On Wednesday 5th December 2018 we had an opening day for our new Watergrove Centre. Trust governors, local councillors and several students and staff from each school within the Trust attended. Thank you to everyone who attended the open day and we look forward to seeing you all in 2019 when the pool is officially open.
A competition was held within the Trust Primary schools to design a swimming pool mascot and safety poster with the winner being chosen to ‘cut the ribbon’ therefore opening the swimming pool. The winner of the mascot and safety poster was Year 6 student from St James C of E Primary School, Libby. As well as cutting the ribbon, Libby and her Year 6 class was the first class to have a lesson in the newly refurbished swimming pool on the day.
The Watergrove Centre will officially be open to schools and the public in 2019. Timetables will be released in 2019. You can keep up to date with news about the swimming pool on our social media pages @watergrovecentre.
